Jane Mehl is a dedicated Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) and Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) who brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to her practice. Originally from Ukraine, Jane has achieved her dream of becoming an American while pursuing a rewarding career in healthcare.

Jane’s career path began in international business management, where she earned a master's degree, but her true passion led her to healthcare. She graduated with her nursing degree in 2018, completed her master’s in nursing in 2021, and achieved her post-master’s certificate in 2023.

Her professional experience is equally remarkable. Jane has worked as a registered nurse in trauma, neuro, and orthopedic units at a local hospital, gaining invaluable expertise. As a nurse practitioner, her focus has been on primary care, addiction medicine, pain management, and mental health, ensuring her patients receive comprehensive, patient-focused care.

Jane’s philosophy centers on combining the nursing process with compassionate, individualized care to support her patients’ well-being.

In her personal life, Jane enjoys spending time with her husband, their children, and their cat, Wasabi. Her hobbies include hiking, biking, swimming, music, reading, and exploring philosophy—though her busy schedule often makes these precious moments.

Medical Assistant, Certified Nursing Assistant

Gina brings a decade of experience in the healthcare field, where her dedication to caring for others has always been her driving passion. Over the past ten years, she has worked in hospice care, nursing facilities, and managed her previous company’s drug and alcohol program for El Paso County.

As a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA), Gina has developed expertise in patient care, including experience with Ketamine therapy and administering injections. She is also preparing to further her credentials by pursuing her Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) certification.

In her role at Around the Block Healthcare, Gina will not only provide exceptional patient care but also take on a leadership role by training and onboarding new medical assistants as the practice grows. She is also working toward certification in Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) to expand her skill set and contribute to innovative mental health treatments.

Outside of work, Gina has a love for travel and enjoys exploring different countries and cultures, adding to her rich and diverse perspective. Her commitment to compassionate care and continuous growth makes her a valued member of our team.

Family Nurse Practitioner

Jacklyn Hardin, known as Jackie, is a highly skilled Family Nurse Practitioner with a passion for comprehensive, patient-centered care. She began her healthcare journey as a registered nurse (RN) in a rural hospital, where she gained valuable experience working across departments, including ICU, OB, and ER. This dynamic environment helped her develop a well-rounded skill set and deep appreciation for diverse aspects of patient care.

In 2012, Jackie relocated to Colorado, where she continued her nursing career on the Western Slope. She ultimately found her calling in OB/NICU, becoming the lead educator for the neonatal resuscitation program and developing innovative algorithms to improve maternal and fetal outcomes.

Jackie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing before completing her Master of Science in Nursing with a focus on Family Practice. Her professional experience includes working in a rural clinic that combined urgent care, family practice, mental health, and substance abuse treatment, allowing her to provide comprehensive care to diverse patient populations.

She strongly believes that communication is key to achieving the best possible outcomes. Jackie takes the time to understand her patients' personal goals and works collaboratively to develop tailored care plans that address their unique needs.

As a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC), my approach to therapy is rooted in trauma-informed care, emphasizing mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Registered Nurse | Practice Manager

Michael Mehl, known as Mikey, is a highly skilled Registered Nurse with a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to patient care and clinic management. A military brat who grew up in Hawaii and Washington State, Mikey joined the Air Force at 18, beginning his journey in healthcare as a medic and later becoming a paramedic. He earned his practical nursing certification in 2005 and has since built a career marked by expertise and leadership.

Mikey’s background includes a strong foundation in Urgent Care, Emergency Medicine, and Internal Medicine, with extensive experience in managing chronic diseases. Over his career, he has taken on clinic management roles, utilizing his vast knowledge to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency.

Currently, Mikey serves as a full-time Emergency Room Nurse with the Veterans Health Administration, bringing invaluable expertise to his role as Practice Manager at Around the Block Healthcare. In January 2025, he will begin his studies to become a Family Nurse Practitioner, specializing in urgent care, with aspirations to join the practice as a full-time provider upon graduation.

Personal Interests

Outside of work, Mikey enjoys spending time with his family, playing board games, listening to music, and exploring anime. His diverse interests and dedication to growth make him a vital member of the Around the Block Healthcare team.

Aubrie Plautz brings a wealth of knowledge and dedication to her role as Office Manager at Around the Block Healthcare. With a background in healthcare administration and social work, she combines operational expertise with a passion for supporting patients and staff alike.

Aubrie is currently pursuing her undergraduate degree in social work, with plans to continue into an Advanced Standing MSW program at Grand Canyon University. She is also working toward becoming an AASECT-certified sex therapist, specializing in problematic sexual behaviors, obsessive-compulsive sexual behaviors, and sex offender management.

Aubrie’s long-term goal is to practice as a certified sex therapist with Around the Block Healthcare, helping individuals navigate complex sexual health challenges. She is deeply committed to:

She is also an active student member of both the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT).
